Non-Destructive Testing

In order to better serve its customers; KK Precision has added LPI (Liquid Penetrant Inspection) and MPI (Magnetic Penetrant Inspection) capabilities. This will accelerate the turnaround time and provide a more comprehensive service to our customers.

MPI is a non-destructive test method which provides for the detection of linear, surface and near surface discontinuities in ferromagnetic test materials. This method is used to locate flaws in ferrous parts, including welds, forgings, and castings.

Our MPI system is based on a high performance Magnaflux unit which permits the inspection of components up to 3 meters in dimension. Our custom designed enclosure allows us to examine components under black light conditions.

LPI is a non-destructive inspection method that uses an oil-based chemical solution of fluorescent dye capable of migration into surface openings. It is able to detect small cracks or surface discontinuities in ferrous and non-ferrous materials.

Our LPI equipment and materials enables us to inspect components to high sensitivity levels.

We are able to process components up to 24 inches by 30 inches by 48 inches, and up to 500 pounds.

We installed a membrane type wastewater treatment system to remove the oil and the particles in suspension. This process eliminates bacteria and odor problems often found in penetrant wastewater.
